What to look out for in terms of security issues in your home

No of us ever want to become victims of a break in but unfortunately it does happen and with criminals becoming increasingly sophisticated, this figure is expected to rise over the next few years.

With this in mind it is vital to try and protect yourself and your property as much as possible and also to be aware of signs that you may be the next target.

Thieves often scoop out houses that they are considering breaking in to first to check what security systems are in place, what time the house is unoccupied and what they may be able to steel. If you notice a person or vehicle hanging around your property, then make a note of any details you can and put in a call to your local police station.

Regularly check your doors and windows for signs of damage where someone may have tried to break in. If you do notice anything such as cracked or damaged frames then report it immediately to the police and ask them to come out to your property to give you some advice on how you can make it more secure. CCTV and alarms as well as lighting can be enough to deter a burglar from setting foot inside your gates.
