Choosing a secure password

A recent article was produced showing the number of people that still use very un secure passwords for many online accounts. These passwords included “1,2,3,4” and even the word “password”. With the number of hackers on the internet increasing day by day and the technology they have available to them, it is vital to try and keep all aspects on your online activity as secure as possible. Ideally every site you use should have a unique password. If you find it hard to remember all of them, then you could have some sort of consistency but making them slightly different. This way if one of your accounts is hacked, they will not be able to access all of your others too.

When choosing a password it is advisable to pick a mixture of uppercase and lowercase letters and also include at least one number. Passwords should not be shorted than 6 characters and many sites stipulate this in their terms.
