Car imobiliser is anti-theft security device fitted in a car that you can use to secure your car from thieves who could otherwise drive it away. It functions by preventing the engine from running as it cuts off the fuel supply. It has in-built in the key with a unique secret code that matches with that of the car’s engine. Modern cars have an inbuilt chip of a special computer which can send a signals to the car’s control unit to so that let it can determine the right key is used to start the car, thereby turning off the imobiliser. If otherwise, the car remains immobile and sometimes may raise an appropriate alarm to the owner.
Other older cars such as Peugeots used to have a key pad in to which you typed in a code to bypass the immobiliser and gain access. Essentially, they provide guaranteed ultimate security to your car in any open space.
