Many systems allow the user to view footage on a mobile device such as a smartphone or tablet in real time which is useful if you are away from home or at night. It is essential that the video footage is clear from any CCTV system so that it can be used to identify any thieves and used as evidence when an incident is reported to the police. Some systems come with a separate hard drive so that footage can be recorded and kept but this needs to be kept in a place that is secure so that it too cannot be stolen.
