When it comes to security, many of us are really good at ensuring our homes are secure but not all that great at ensuring we are secure when going online. With so many of us now having to work from home, online security has never been more important. Unfortunately there are criminals out there that are taking advantage of the current situation and trying to be fit from the amount of people that are working online from home that may not be as security savvy as others.
It is important to ensure that any device you use that is capable of going online is protected with a good anti virus. Having an anti virus software package is the first step to protecting yourself online but it certainly isn’t the last. You need to be careful when opening any emails, files or flash drives as these can all contain viruses and malware that may be able to bypass your anti virus software.
As a rule, do not open any email or attachment where you do not recognise the sender. Also do not follow any links you have been sent asking you to log in to an account such as a bank account, PayPal account or anything else that require you to enter a password or secure information.
