With so many different processes and applications having to be completed online, many of us are getting swamped with remembering different logins. It can be very tempting to use one or two passwords for all of your accounts, but this is by far not very secure and is opening you up to fall victim to a cyber-attack.
When choosing a password, lots of different sites have different stipulations as to what you must and must not include in your password. Often, they ask for at least one capital letter and one symbol. They also usually stipulate that you cannot change your password to something that you have used before and can also say that it cannot contain your name. This can make it very difficult to find a password that fits the criteria but also that you can remember. It is not a good idea to write down your passwords in one place. If you do have to write it down try and disguise it within another word or sentence that only you will understand.
Online security is very important and therefore should be taken seriously. If you think your password may of been compromised then be sure to change it as quickly as possible.
