Unfortunately we do all need to consider the safety of our homes. Too many break-ins occur on a daily basis leaving the victim shaken and financially at a loss. Often items stolen from the home are small, valuable ones as they are easy to transport and easy to sell.

Laptops, phones, money and jewellery are often the main items that burglars aim for along with televisions, games consoles and hi-fi’s (if they can get them out). Moving all your valuables out of sight when going out can be enough to deter a burglar but ideally you do not want to put them all in one place. I know it is not always practical to move every valuable item out of site, but laptops and phone should always be put away and preferably locked up.

It is not a good idea to keep large amounts of money in the house, but if you do need to then it is worth investing in a safe that cannot be found easily.
