One thing many pets owners do not think much about is the security of their pets. Pet crime is on the increase and recently there has been a massive increase in dog and puppy thefts from all over the country.
Due to the pandemic, prices of puppies has soared. Many owners we not able to meet to breed their puppies and the demand has gone through the roof. These two factors have seen prices go higher than ever before for all breeds of dog. A puppy that may of cost around £300 before the pandemic is no costing around £1000 plus.
Because of the increase in demand and prices, many criminals have seen this as an opportunity to make some quick money. They are stealing puppies and then selling them on to unwitting buyers. Often the puppies are stolen from gardens or when out on a walk with their own and before you know it, they are gone. This is very stressful for the owners and the puppy. It is important that you think about the security for your puppy or dog and be sure that they are in your sight at all times. Make sure that they are microchipped and have a CCTV system install inside your home but also looking out over your property in case someone does try to take them.
