The job of a close protection agent

A close protection agent or a bodyguard is a type of government agent or security guard that is hired to keep clients safe from unwanted attention or physical harm. They are normally hired to protect a public figure, member of royalty or someone extremely wealthy and can be seen escorting people to major events or simply to go to the shops.

Often the people they are protecting require a high level of security which means the person is guarded at all times and that the guard is personally responsible for the safety of that person or persons at all times.

For some people, the adrenalin they get from the job and the fact that they have an important role to play in the safety of others is very rewarding. Knowing that the life of another person is in your hands and your responsibility can be a few attractive part of the job for many.

As a close protection officer you can expect to earn anything from £100 a day upwards of over £500 a day depending on how much experience you have, the person you are protecting and any additional qualifications you may have.

To be a security guard, close protection agent or body guard, you really need to be able to stay calm in intense situations and think fast. You also may need weapons training and medical training.
